Living between languages, Filipa has a fascination for the playful aspects of communication and the intricate nuances involved in the process of translation.
Alongside her work in cultural production with art galleries, museums and festivals, she has been editing and translating in both Portuguese and English for almost 8 years, since completing a degree in Philosophy and History of Art from the University of Glasgow.
With a highly critical approach, she specialises in the fields of arts, humanities and social sciences, collaborating and supporting artists, curators and academics in their writing for publications across the cultural sector. More recently, she co-edited and translated a catalogue raisonné published in celebration of the 10 years of Walk&Talk, an experimental, community-centred arts festival that takes place in the beautiful islands of the Azores, in Portugal.
Filipa's interest in the broader creative industries provides her with a deep understanding of the many challenges in conveying messages truthfully across languages and audiences, a task she really enjoys helping others with!
