Boldface Editing in a World of AI: Does it beat the human eye?

We use “boldface” to get our writing noticed. It is a strong, typeface that stands out from the text to draw notice to the words that are typed in “bold”. As a business, our ambition is to help draw attention to your writing. To produce something that stands out above the rest.
In today’s world, artificial intelligence (AI) has a big role to play as, more and more, prospective writers turn to auto-correct apps to assist their work. AI is an effective tool and it definitely has its place. But we would argue that while it is on the up, it still isn't a complete replacement for what the human eye can do.
While writing with AI can speed up the writing process, it has its limits too. Firstly, it is hard to keep the writer’s tone. Apps such as Grammarly can definitely help with finding a tone, but is it yours? Making sure it is your voice that is shines through is a matter of personalising your text as your own and is a skill that overall makes you a more competent writer. Do you think you know your writing voice? This is something we believe we are better placed to support you with. Communication is about connection and that means getting to know the writer better. Why not let us do that before you've published.

Another thing to consider is the flow of your text. The longer your text, the less able AI can help with structuring and narrative flow. AI is mathematical, not a creative storyteller. And while AI is advancing constantly, I am sure we all have experienced our frustrations with predictive text. It can send us down rabbit holes where we are persuaded to complete a sentence or an idea in a way that can be possibly misleading. We have all suffered from “auto correct”. I know. I am that person who clicks send and then realises that what is in the message is not what I have sent. I blame “fot fungers".
Again, these are not criticisms against the use of AI entirely. Instead, it's an encouraging reminder that the human eye is more capable than we sometimes think. When you stare at your writing for weeks on end or feel pressured by strict deadlines, we can all become complacent. Nevertheless, team work really does make the dream work. There are plenty of services out there, like our own, that are readily available to support you through the final grind.
So what is our advice? If you're considering it, then use AI, absolutely, it is helpful! But as a matter of improving your skills as a writer and keeping the overall flow of your writing, AI can stifle creativity. Therefore, making use of a human eye to help with proofreading, editing and/or translation can only be a good thing. Why not consider using Boldface Editing?
